We still don't have an official date for the return of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and company.
This weekend, on Saturday, April 25, we celebrated the first anniversary of Avengers: Endgame (2019), the penultimate installment of The Infinity Saga by Marvel Studios and the endpoint to the battle against Thanos (Josh Brolin). The highest-grossing film in history represents a before and after for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and, of course, it will have implications in Phase 4 that is to come and that will debut in theaters on October 30 with the premiere. of Black Widow.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiere at Disney+ on May 4
One of its clearest effects will be experienced by the Guardians of the Galaxy from Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax 'The Destroyer' (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and company, who had to say goodbye to their Gamora (Zoe Saldana) in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and that in Endgame they ran into a 'new' version (of the past) of the lethal assassin, who will surely end up crossing them in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, still undated. Now, during a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) viewing in quarantine, its director and screenwriter James Gunn has invalidated a theory about zen-whole.
The theory that James Gunn has refuted has to do with Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and with Mantis (Pom Klementieff). Before the celebration of the #QuarantineWarchParty of Guardians Vol. 2, which took place this Thursday, April 23, user Eric M. Scharf asked Gunn if the powers of Mantis could work in reverse projecting the feelings of love of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and, in essence, restore memory to the 'new' Gamora, the 2014 version and not the 'original' Gamora - since it was sacrificed by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Vormir in exchange for the Soul gem.

"We see them [Mantis' powers] work in reverse when he fills Gamora with fear," Gunn replied, referring to that scene in Vol. 2 where Mantis, during everyone's stay at Ego, uses his powers. of empathy to alter Gamora's emotions and make her scared. "But memories are thoughts, not emotions," continued the filmmaker. "You cannot read or send thoughts, only emotions." But what if he used Quill's love to 'send it' to the new Gamora?
One of the biggest unknowns of the MCU is to discover what relationship the 2014 Gamora will have with the Guardians of the galaxy. For starters, because it's a 'family' you haven't yet met ... and then there is the romantic bond with Star-Lord. If you felt it once, will you feel it again? With the director's words, what seems clear is that Quill and his people will have to earn their old-fashioned trust.

(2021), Hawkeye (2022), Ms. Marvel (2022), Moon Knight (2022), and She-Hulk (2022).
