Together, Andy and Barbara Muschietti have just adapted Stephen King's over-classic "IT" as a two-parter. With "Roadwork" they already have the next King project on the hook - and have already found an exciting director for it.

On September 5, 2019, "IT Chapter 2" will be released. Andy Muschietti then delivers the much-anticipated sequel to his critically acclaimed Stephen King adaptation "IT." As a director, he then devotes himself to other projects, including staging the comic adaptation "The Flash" and for the "Avengers: Endgame" -maker the post-apocalyptic picture novel "The Electric State". But as a producer, he remains true to horror master King.

The Spanish colleagues of Radio Cantilo Andy Muschietti and his sister Barbara Muschietti, who works alongside him as a producer, revealed that they are already working on the next King adaptation: For the filming of the "Roadwork" (1981) by King under the pseudonym Richard Bachmann ( German title: "Explosive") you already have a "fantastic script" according to Barbara Muschietti and want to start filming in early 2020. The director will then take over her Argentine compatriot Pablo Trapero - an exciting choice. For the proved among other things, with the thriller drama "El Clan" his class, where a bourgeois family protects the nasty secret to kidnap people.

THAT'S WHY IN "ROADWORK" ALIAS "SPRENGSTOFF"

Stephen King's "explosive" is less horror but more of a thriller drama. The focus is on Barton George Dawes, who is told that both his house and the laundry operated by him as a manager will be demolished, as a highway is being built. Dawes can not cope with that. He has just lost his son in an accident. Dawes does not want to give up his house, arms himself and slowly falls into madness ...

If the Muschiettis and Pablo Trapero keep their schedule and start shooting in early 2020, a theatrical release for "Roadwork" would be realistic in late 2020 or 2021 at the latest.
