All the news from the Marvel Games panel at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Yes, after the tremendous impact of Avengers: Endgame for Marvel Cinematic Universe, due to the tremendous consequences of its events, we were all eager to see firsthand what the news Marvel Studios was facing in the next phase. From his cinematic universe.
And, of course, in the same way, we all had in mind that great news would come. But maybe not so many that Kevin Feige has fallen under his arm.
Black Widow (May 1, 2020)
The Black Widow will have a prequel that will tell her her adventures about European espionage outside the Marvel Studios superhero environment. A feature film that will not hurt the studio to be able to vary its style a bit and explore new genres.
Scarlett Johansson will be accompanied, in the cast, by David Harbor, Florence Pugh, and Rachel Weisz. The second Marvel film starring a woman will arrive on May 1, 2020.
The Eternal (November 6, 2020)
The first big bomb of the conference, to which others will join later, has been the confirmation that there will be a film of The Eternal. And not only that, but Feige has revealed that the release date of the film will be November 6, 2020. We know that the cast is composed of Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee.
Directed by Chloé Zhao, we still have no idea what the story of The Eternal One will tell: whether it will choose to join the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or if it will first make a film of origin to make the public knew to each and every one of the characters. Which, as you can see in the cast, are some.
Falcon and The Winter Soldier (Fall 2020 at Disney +)
We already knew that this series was going to arrive at some point. Especially, after seeing how those two characters that head the title of the project were left with the legacy of Captain America in their hands. The Disney + series will be available on its platform from 2020. With Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as protagonists and with Daniel Brühl as the antagonist.
Without a doubt, it will be a challenge for them, especially for Mackie, to collect the testimony of Steve Rogers and see if they can convey the same feelings with which Chris Evans worked for years with the character.
Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings (February 12, 2021)
It was a pleasant surprise when Marvel Studios announced during its panel that it would incorporate an Asian superhero into its ranks. This fact implies an expansion by the company that will allow it to explore in-depth the Asian culture and escape, as far as possible, from its typical American scenarios. So, Shang-Chi's arrival at UCM is excellent news.
Simu Liu will give life to the protagonist, Tony Leung will play the villain, The Mandarin, and Destin Daniel Cretton will be behind the cameras to direct the project. He is expected to hit theaters on February 12, 2021.
WandaVision (spring of 2021 at Disney +)
Wanda Maximoff and Vision are two of those characters that remained in the air after the Endgame events. Not in the sense of not being clear about what happens to them in the present of the story, but the public has given an arm to continue watching Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany together on the screen once again.
Fortunately, Disney + will be a refuge for its history and we can continue to know the adventures and misadventures of both characters from 2021.
Loki (spring of 2021 in Disney +)
There are many unknowns here to answer. Loki will be a series that will mark a turning point in the history of Marvel due to the tremendous mystery surrounding his character after what he saw, not only in Endgame but also in Infinity War.
The Deception God has some things to clarify, so that, being a television series, Disney + will show it to us at the same time as WandaVision: 2021. The wait for both deliveries will be long, but Marvel always has a reason to do so. That wait is worth it.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 7, 2021)
It was another one of the Marvel Studios projects that were sung. But, even so, there are surprises in the project. Benedict Cumberbatch will not be alone in his role as Doctor Strange since Elisabeth Olsen will accompany the supreme sorceress in her new solo adventure, which will follow the events we see in WandaVision.
On the other hand, Scott Derrickson, director of the previous installment of Doctor Strange, returns to repeat as director. Marvel seems to be assigned to several fixed directors for his films; as Taika Waititi, James Gunn, among others. This magical sequel will be released on May 7, 2021.
What if ...? (Summer 2021 at Disney +)
Marvel prepares its first animated series, which will feature many of the actors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to double their animated characters, and will feature Jeffrey Wright as the protagonist of the project.
Not much information has been revealed about the series beyond what can be seen from the summer of 2021, but, calm, we will bring all the information that Marvel to know.
Hawkeye (fall of 2021 in Disney +)
Another character that goes from film to television. Hawk's Eye is one of the Marvel characters that has been most involved in controversy. Due to the little use that the company gave him and how he left him aside with respect to his fellow Avengers. Although with Endgame they tried to remedy it, some fans were not completely satisfied.
So, since the character can not occupy the big screen as long as Marvel wanted, what better than to give him a series where he himself is the absolute protagonist. Disney + will launch the series in 2021, which will again feature Jeremy Renner and introduce Kate Bishop.
Thor: Love and Thunder (5th of November, 2021)
We are not going to deceive you, this is surely the news that has given us the most joy of the whole panel - although it is difficult to keep one, they are all too good. After it was confirmed that Taika Waititi was returning behind the cameras to direct Chris Hemsworth in his new adventure as God of Trunk, Marvel Studios has released the official logo of the film and the title of this fourth installment.
The argument is still unknown and if its events will go after or before Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3, but we do know that Natalie Portman will return to the saga of Thor - being the fourth part we can call it the saga independently of the other Marvel tapes - to become the Goddess of Thunder.
Blade (undated)
You are reading all well, yes. Blade is going to have a reboot at the hands of Marvel Studios and will feature Oscar-winning Mahershala Ali as the new vampire who has seen the sun.
Few we expected to see this come true, especially after the childish tone that surrounds Marvel movies that contrast a lot with the violent and bloody style of Blade's stories. There is no date, nor synopsis. But the news, by itself, is already pure gold.
Fantastic Four
To close, several sequels have also been confirmed, including Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 and Captain Marvel 2. However, the big bomb is the arrival of the "first family of Marvel" to its legitimate home, being the first license of FOX that ends up making the leap to the UCM after buying the company from Disney
