The actor who played Cottonmouth in the Netflix Luke Cage series has a new role related to Marvel.

Marvel Studios has announced a new Blade movie as part of its Phase 4 presentation in Hall H of the Comic-Con.

Blade will return to the big screen after the original interpretation of Wesley Snipes as the Vampire Slayer in Blade (1998), Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004). Sticky Fingaz was also Blade in a 2006 television series that aired on Spike.

Mahershala Ali is a prolific actor who has won two Oscars for best-supporting actor for Moonlight (2016) and Green Book (2018).

The strange thing is that it will not be Ali's first appearance on a Marvel property, as he played the villain Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes on Netflix's Luke Cage and dubbed Uncle Aaron in the original version of Spider-Man: A new universe.

The Blade comics were created by writer Mary Wolfman and the enlightened Gene Colan and his first appearance were in "The Tomb of Dracula # 10" in July 1973.

Blade was the film that closed the panel of Marvel on stage 4. If you want to know all the movies that will be available, do not miss our compilation report, or the next gallery.
