Dexter Fletcher will direct Sherlock Holmes 3
The director of Rocketman will be in charge of this sequel starring Robert Downey Jr.
The sequel to the Sherlock Holmes saga in theaters already has a director, since Dexter Fletcher, director of Rocketman, the biopic of Elton John, has signed to direct the film starring Robert Downey Jr.
As Variety has learned, Fletcher will replace Guy Ritchie, who directed Sherlock Holmes in 2009 and Sherlock Holmes: Shadow Play, which premiered in 2011.
Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes and in the same way, Jude Law will be his faithful companion, Dr. John Watson. Chris Brancato, known for his work in series such as Narcos and Hannibal, will write the script.
The premiere of this third film in the saga was delayed until December 21, 2021, so between the second part and this will have spent neither more nor less than 10 years. Initially it was expected to release the tape in 2016, unfortunately, the commitments of Downey Jr. with Marvel delayed this production.
