The chapter titled 'Chapter 10: The Passenger' has been available on Disney+ since November 6.

The second episode of the second season of The Mandalorian has been available on Disney+ since last Friday, November 6, and under the title 'Chapter 10: The Passenger' (2x02).

In it, Command (Peter Pascal) embarks on a new mission to bring to his destination a creature that must take his young to the same planet to which Command and El NiƱo must go to meet more Mandalorians.

But on his way, he encounters several problems, including having to escape thousands of spiders found on an icy planet. One of them is considerably huge and apparently the mother of all of them. And while it may become the first time we've seen it on screen, it was originally going to appear in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.

Ralph McQuarrie, one of the leading visual artists for the original Star Wars trilogy and one of the people most closely associated with what the franchise looks like today, created spiders for The Empire Strikes Back for the First Time. These were imagined to face Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) while training with Yoda (Frank Oz) and Dagobah.

McQuarrie's storyboard was tremendously evocative with a massive, grotesque spider that fit perfectly with Dagobah's swampy atmosphere. Later, it would be used in novels, comics, and video games until it actually appeared in Star Wars Rebels, the animated series created by Dave Filoni, the executive producer also of The Mandalorian and the same one that plays an X-Wing pilot in the second episode.
