This has been confirmed by Karen Fukuhara and Tomer Capon, actors who bring these characters to life, respectively, in the Amazon series.

The premiere of the second season of The Boys on Amazon Prime Video is getting closer and closer. Many are the unknowns that this new delivery will have to face; as well as the fate of its protagonists, which after the outcome of the last episode has been left in the air. Now, thanks to the latest statements from Karen Fukuhara and Tomer Capon, what will happen to this pair in the sequel has been revealed.

The tandem formed by Fukuhara and Capon in fiction during season 1 has been one of the most fondly taken by some of the fans of fiction, however, it seems that it will not last for long in the second installment, as the actress has revealed during an interview with ComicBook:

"Kimiko needs Frenchie, and Frenchie, in a very unconditional and affectionate way, needs Kimiko too, and in season 2, we see the two distance a little for Kimiko, comes from her desire to be herself, and find her own way and individuality away from Frenchie"

It is clear that the female figure among The Boys will want to grow and evolve and, above all, away from Frenchie. This is going to make the character played by Capon not go through his best in the next chapters: "I think it's not easy for Frenchie to accept that, and that puts him in a position where he has to deal with his own demons, and not try to seek solace in Kimiko, and that's where the whole origin story opens up, and we came across this incredible story about these two amazing characters," acknowledged Capon.

The second season of The Boys premieres on Amazon Prime Video on September 4, but in the meantime, you can enjoy their first installment again.
