Those who love fantasy series like 'Game Of Thrones' and 'The Witcher' must have been quite happy about the new Netflix series 'Cursed'. Why a second season is very likely, we'll tell you now.

The Netflix series "Cursed" is currently on everyone's mouth and dominates the streaming service's top 10. Since July 17, 2020, ten episodes of the fantasy adventure have been available for retrieval, and the adventures of Nimue, Arthur and the wizard Merlin have already found numerous fans.

Anyone who has already seen the series finale will inevitably ask themselves how and whether the story will be recounted. Will there be a second season? We have found reasons that absolutely support this.

So far, Netflix hasn't officially commented on other episodes of "Cursed," after all, the series hasn't been running for long. Especially the end of the first season definitely speaks for a sequel...

THE END OF "CURSED" IS FIRST THE FIRST
The fabric from which "Cursed" is made is far from new. The Arthurian saga, closely intertwined with the stories about the sorcerer Merlin and the sword Excalibur, is one of the most important mythologies in Britain, goes back to the 9th century of literary history and is still reinterpreted today – both in books, as well as in films and series.

The "Cursed" series also features some elements of the ancient saga, although it is based on the modern illustrated novel by Tom Wheeler and "300" creator Frank Miller*. In fact, there is no sequel to the book yet – a second season of the series is still not improbable.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH NIMUE IN "CURSED"?
Attention, spoilers at the end of "Cursed"!

At the end of the first season, it all looks as if the young heroine Nimue, who together with Arthur brings a precious sword to the magician Merlin, will die. Pierced by arrows, it falls into a river. A cliffhanger that should shock the fans.

Anyone familiar with the Arthur saga knows that Nimue will most likely not die – she still has some big tasks ahead of her. In many other books and films, Nimue is known as the "Lord of the Lake" and occupies a central position in further mythology. In Marion Zimmer Bradley's famous novel "The Mists of Avalon," for example, it is an important part of the story.

So it's quite likely that Nimue will re-rise in the second season of "Cursed."

WHO IS THE CRYING MONK?
Without question, the revelation of the true identity of the monk with the bloody tears on his face is the biggest twist at the end of the first season of "Cursed". The shady character is Lancelot, who is, of course, an integral part of many Arthur stories.

Lancelot's other story alone could fill a second season of "Cursed." In the last episodes, the weeping monk develops into a hero, but he has to make amends for some atrocities. In other versions of Arthur's saga, Lancelot is also Arthur's best friend, Guinevere's lover, and always in search of the Holy Grail.

Nimue's future, Lancelot's development, and a few more open narrative strands in "Cursed" strongly suggest that a second season of the Netflix series is likely. As soon as we know more about it, we will, of course, inform you about it.
