The Minions are back! At the Super Bowl, there was the short first trailer for Minions 2: The Rise Of Gru. The sequel bridges the gap to the Despicable Me films and a long trailer is coming soon.
In the Despicable Me films, the little yellow Minions were just the sidekicks - but so popular that they got their own film in 2015. In Minions, we learned that they have been around since time immemorial and have always been driven to serve the greatest villains in history.
At the end of the film, they met Gru, the main character in the Despicable Me series, and that's where it continues. As the title makes clear, it is about the rise of Gru, because he is not yet as great a supervillain as the Minions thought at the first encounter. So you have to help him become one.
Indian the theatrical release of Minions 2: The Rise Of Gru is on July 3, 2020. On Wednesday there will be a long trailer.
