First impressions of this sequel are not all the positive that could be expected.The first projections of IT: Chapter 2 for certain members of the specialized press do not seem to have convinced everyone and many agree that it is not up to the first film.
Jim Vejvoda of says he fails to be as perfect as the first nor exceed the expectations that could have been generated after that premiere. Still defending some really scary moments and certain performances that shine with their own light.
Mike Ryan of Uproxx agrees that he fails to catch up with the first film and adds that the first half is higher than the second
Collider's Perri Nemiroff reaffirms that it is not as refined as the original film but reassures adding that it is a great horror movie with a lot of love.
More optimistic is Steven Weintraub de Collider, who believes that the movie is amazing and that the cast of adult protagonists is perfect. It also ensures to adore how the tape merges the old and the new.
Many other criticisms go in this line and oscillate between the slight disappointment for not having been able to overcome its first part and the absolute admiration for being an outstanding horror film. Given these very varied first impressions, we will have to draw our own conclusions when we attend cinemas.
