The creators of 'Avengers: Endgame' confirm that Thanos' sword is stronger than vibranium. Adamantium?
Marvel Studios' crossover, the highest-grossing film in history, goes on sale on DVD and Blu-ray on August 28.
Avengers: Endgame, the second part of the great 'crossover' of Marvel Studios and now the highest-grossing film in history, goes on sale on DVD and Blu-ray on August 28 after collecting worldwide the incredible figure of 2,794 millions of dollars. Although the last work of the Russo brothers was released in late April, we are still discovering details about him. For example, that Thanos's sword is stronger than vibranium, now confirmed by its creators.
If you remember, Captain America (Chris Evans) fought in the final battle against Thanos (Josh Brolin), who without much effort shattered his (we thought) ultra-resistant shield. Steve Rogers' favorite weapon is made of vibranium, a very strong metal found mostly in Wakanda, the kingdom of the monarch T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman). But it turns out that Thanos' blade was more powerful.
In a commentary that accompanies the digital copy of the film, directors Joe and Anthony Russo and screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus reveal a few secrets that we did not know until now. Near the end, everyone notes that the Mad Titan's sword surpasses the vibranium in durability. "You can also check that, although vibranium is the most solid material on Earth, what Thanos blade is made of is stronger," explains Markus. "Well, clearly Thanos knew about Eitri" - the Nidavellir weapons smith played by Peter Dinklage - adds Joe Russo. "It's true," McFeely adds. "I would have had him make a helicopter sword."
It remains to be known what material Thanos' Arizona is made of. Adamantium? This is a stronger and rarer alloy than vibranium and is not natural but is produced through the smelting of blocks and the mixing of certain chemical resins. Could it be metal Uru, unique on the planet Nidavellir? After the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney, the heroes of the Cinematic Universe (UCM) may study and analyze the steel and then discover the vibranium. The first step for the introduction of Wolverine? Soon we will know. Meanwhile, watch a video of Avengers: Endgame before it goes on sale on DVD and Blu-ray.
